Alex was extraordinary. I was given the names  of three different handymen, and I randomly called him before the others. He answered the phone on the first ring. Thereafter, he called and texted everytime he said he would, and showed up for the job when he said he would, on time. He was kind, professional, and worked diligently. This review is long overdue! Alex has helped us on two occasions, and both experiences have been excellent. The first time, he came to install an AC window unit, but I didn’t have all the necessary parts. He took the time to walk to the hardware store to find what we needed. When they didn’t have the parts either, he was resourceful enough to complete the job using spare parts from his own supplies. I was very impressed with his work ethic and resourcefulness. A few weeks ago, we had Alex back to help with several projects. He hung an 80-inch mirror in our living room, hung artwork, installed hooks on our bathroom door, assembled a bookshelf, and took care of several other miscellaneous projects around the house. He also did an amazing job removing the old caulk and recaulking our bathroom tub. The tub looks brand new! Beyond the quality of his work, Alex was always on time, reasonably priced, professional, and easy to work with. "Alex the Handyman" was recommended to me by my realtor for a handful of cosmetic repairs to get my house ready to sell, including painting. I had received estimates from other contractors that tried to upsell me on unnecessary improvements, weren't painters, and were booked several weeks out. When I reached out to Alex, he came over the next day, took photos and measurements of everything needing repair, which other contractors did not - and had a detailed, itemized, much more reasonable estimate (including painting) to me by the same evening. He was then available to start that weekend, and completed all repairs and painting (3 fully repainted bedrooms and touch-ups elsewhere) in less than a week. He was able to handle every type of repair I needed with ease. He is very skilled, communicative, and friendly. I'll surely be calling Alex again to do more work in my new home. I hired Alex to look at three old doors in my house that would no longer close properly. He did an incredible job diagnosing and fixing the issue. He actually custom-cut wood pieces to perfectly fill the empty spaces behind the old hinges, resetting them so the doors could hang properly again. The doors now open and close smoothly. He was punctual, professional, clean, and very fair with his pricing. It is hard to find someone with the patience and craftsmanship to work on old woodwork like this.
